These terms apply to training maps and camp services booked with Maximus Winter O-Camp (“Maximus”).
Last updated: 26 October 2026.
1. Training maps & access to terrain
Maximus Winter O-Camp supplies orienteering training maps. Purchasing a map does not grant permission to enter the mapped area, guarantee access to the terrain or exempt the user from any applicable laws or restrictions.
Before each session, customers must check and comply with current access requirements, including restrictions affecting private property, protected natural areas, exclusion zones and any temporary closures or restrictions imposed by national, regional or local authorities. These may arise from fire risk, weather alerts, hunting, conservation measures or other circumstances.
The presence of a course, control marker or virtual control does not override an access restriction. Customers must obtain any permission required for their intended activity and must not enter areas where access is prohibited.
Maximus is not responsible for fines, penalties or other consequences resulting from a customer’s unlawful access, misuse of the maps or failure to comply with applicable restrictions.
2. Independent training & insurance
The permanent training courses are provided for independent, self-directed use. Purchasing maps does not constitute entry into an organised event or a supervised training activity.
Customers are responsible for planning and carrying out their sessions, assessing the conditions and choosing activities appropriate to their ability and experience.
Map purchases do not include personal accident or third-party liability insurance. Maximus strongly recommends that all participants hold their own travel and/or accident insurance covering orienteering and their planned activities, including medical assistance, rescue and repatriation where relevant.
Any separately organised events or supervised sessions, including organised SportIdent training and Maximus O Meeting, will be subject to their own conditions and insurance arrangements.
3. Accommodation
Accommodation enquiries and bookings are managed directly by the Maximus team. We coordinate the arrangements with the relevant accommodation provider and communicate the applicable price, included services, payment deadlines and cancellation conditions as part of the booking process.
Accommodation is provided and operated by the respective accommodation provider. Where Maximus arranges accommodation supplied by an independent provider, it acts as an intermediary between the customer and that provider.
Customers should check the conditions communicated for their booking before confirming a reservation. Any special requests or changes should be discussed directly with the Maximus team.
The accommodation provider is responsible for delivering the accommodation and associated services. Maximus is not responsible for an independent provider’s acts, omissions or service failures, except where applicable law places responsibility on Maximus. If a problem arises, we can assist with communication between the customer and the provider.
4. Payment
All maps, accommodation and other services must be paid in full before the start of the camp, unless a different payment arrangement has been expressly agreed with Maximus in writing.
Any earlier payment deadlines specified by the webshop, accommodation provider or individual booking agreement must also be respected.
5. Statutory rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits Maximus’s liability where it cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, or affects customers’ statutory rights.
