Once again, Maximus O Meeting will feature an outstanding elite start field in both categories. The 7th edition promises four demanding stages and a thrilling fight for the overall victory, with many of the world’s top athletes ready to push each other to the limit. As always, the action can be followed live with GPS tracking via Loggator, bringing every route choice and time split straight to the screen.
Women’s Elite 🌍
In the women’s category, one of the main favourites is undoubtedly Pia Young VIK 🇳🇴. The reigning European Sprint Champion and World Relay silver medallist already showed her consistency last year, fighting for the overall win until the very last stage. The young Norwegian arrives with confidence and experience, but the road to victory will be anything but easy.
Standing firmly in her way is the powerful IGTISA dream team, led by Sandra GROSBERGA 🇱🇻, Aleksandra HORNIK 🇵🇱 and Hanna WIŚNIEWSKA 🇵🇱. All three are well known at Maximus O Meeting and have proven time and again that they thrive on this terrain and format.
Adding even more spice to the competition are the Finnish national team debutants Ida HAAPALA 🇫🇮 and Elisa MATTILA 🇫🇮, athletes with huge potential and nothing to lose. It will also be fascinating to see what the very young talents can deliver, with Seline SANNWALD 🇨🇭 starting her first year in elite, and Janka MIKES 🇭🇺 competing in her final junior season.
And of course, all eyes will also be on the experienced Dutch runner Eef VAN DONGEN 🇳🇱, who visits Maximus O Meeting for the first time and is more than capable of shaking up the fight for the podium. With more than 60 women on the start line, the list of potential contenders goes far beyond just these names.
Men’s Elite 🌍
In the men’s category, the battle looks just as open and predicting a clear favourite is far from easy. Still, one name stands out as a true Maximus O Meeting specialist: Oskar HAGSTRÖM 🇸🇪. The Swede already knows how to win individual stages here, taking victory in the Middle Distance in 2024 and the Long Distance in 2025, but the overall title has so far escaped him. Could this finally be his year?
He will face fierce opposition from a strong French armada ready to make life difficult. Lucas BASSET 🇫🇷 appears to be one of the main rivals, supported by two more dangerous contenders in Maxime RAUTURIER 🇫🇷 and Julien VUITTON 🇫🇷, both well equipped for the demands of MOM.
Do not underestimate the younger generation either. This Maximus O Meeting could be a breakthrough event for several rising stars, such as Daniel BOLEHOVSKÝ 🇨🇿, in his first elite year and current Junior World Champion in Long Distance, Marton CSOBOTH 🇭🇺, in his final junior season and reigning Junior World Champion in Middle Distance, as well as Kornelius KRISZAT-LØVFALD 🇳🇴 and Jacob STEINTHAL 🇩🇰. The mix of youth, talent and ambition guarantees fireworks.
